Relationships are hard.

In order for a relationship to work, both parties need to be mature, have a similar worldview, and either love or hate Donald Trump.

But even the best relationships can be destroyed over something small.

Really small. Like an anime figurine.

Man Broke Up With GF for Throwing Away His Anime Figurines

An irate man in Taiwan has slammed his girlfriend on social media after she threw away his beloved collection of anime figurines while he was away.

He broke up with her as a result.

The man detailed the incident in a Facebook post on 11 Nov, which has since been shared over 1,400 times.

The man shared the post in a Taiwanese Facebook group where users can anonymously rant about their girlfriends.

Think of it as NUS Whispers but specifically for angry men.

In his post, the man talked about his love for the Demon Slayer character Nezuko.

In the show, Nezuko is a human who was turned into a demon after an attack, and now has to wear a muzzle over her mouth as means of controlling herself from tasting human blood.

Sounds like a nice family show.

While some would consider anime figurines to be of little value, the man said he had spent “hundreds of thousands” of Taiwan dollars on his collection of Nezuko dolls.

But one day he came home to find that his ex-girlfriend, whom he was living with, got rid of his entire collection while he was away visiting his hometown.

“That was bought with my hard-earned money over the years, and it was all dumped into a rubbish bag and thrown into a garbage truck by you,” he wrote.

Took Up Space

When confronted, his ex-girlfriend explained that she had thrown all his Nezuko figurines away because they were taking up space.

Moreover, the man said his ex-girlfriend didn’t like the fact that he watched anime, which is why he couldn’t watch Demon Slayer: Infinity Train, a movie released in Japan in October this year.

“I’ve never cared that you spend all day watching Korean dramas and chasing your K-Pop idols. Is it so difficult to have some mutual respect for each other?” he said.

“In hindsight, I was pathetic in the past for trying to hide my hobbies to make you happy.”

The man tried contacting the rubbish collection company to get his expensive figurines back, but it was too late: they had already been incinerated.

Whether you like anime figurines or think they’re stupid, I think we can all agree that throwing away your partner’s possessions without their permission is wrong.

But instead of showing any remorse or apologising, the man’s girlfriend only had this to say when he broke up with her:

“You otakus (nerds) just love trash too much. It’s ridiculous.”

Maybe this was a blessing in disguise.

At the end of his post, the man added that he plans to take his ex to court to sue her for damages.
