The bromance between Kwang Soo and Joong-ki when he’s in the army is really too damn high

Any Running Man fan would know that the members are extremely close in real life—they would usually have a meal together after filming, and often come out together after work.

When Song Joong-ki was still in Running Man, it was quite well-known that Lee Kwang-soo and Song Joong-ki were close buddies, despite them often arguing on screen. If you want an evidence of how strong their brotherhood is, here’s one.

You can see how sincere it is when the guests have no reaction, while Kwang-soo was secretly crying. It sure is weird seeing our brave Captain Yoo Si-jin crying, eh?

Anyways, Kwang-soo (and according to several media reports, him and Kim Jong-kook) has always been keeping in contact with Joong-ki, often having drinking together.

When Joong-ki was in the army, Kwang-soo posted a tweet about Joong-ki being caught for eating a chocopie during his training, adding this: “Are you having a hard time?”

Nearing the competition of his service, in an interview on One Night of TV Entertainment, Kwang-soo said that prior to Joong-ki being enlisted, he would cry whenever Joong-ki was leaving. Ah, that beautiful friendship they’d had!

Kwang-soo also mentioned that he did visit Joong-ki once when he was in the army. But then he added jokingly that Joong-ki didn’t seem to appreciate it, so he didn’t visit again. *cue Lee Kwang-soo theme*

But what’s most interesting is when Joong-ki was discharged. When reporters asked him which girl group has motivated him during his service, here’s what he said: “… I honestly don’t know a lot of girl groups. Personally, my best friend Lee Kwang Soo was the one that gave me the most strength. I saw him so often during ‘Running Man’ that he naturally became my greatest strength.”

I can almost see Lee Kwang-soo blushing again now.

Oh, by the way, it was Joong-ki who requested Kwang-soo to cameo in Descendants of the Sun (ar bo then?).
