Recycle Bin In Bukit Batok Carpark Burst Into Flames, Roasted Innocent Van & Motorcycle Parked Just Beside It

Be careful of where you park.

That’s the number one lesson any driver who’s been driving here in Singapore would’ve learnt.

But besides illegally parking under a void deck and in a BlueSG lot, you can now add one more place where you shouldn’t park your vehicle beside: The Recycle Bin.

Innocent Van & Motorcycle Parked Near Recycle Bin Burn After Bin Catches Fire

A video uploaded to popular Facebook page All Singapore Stuff showed what is reportedly a recycle bin burning heavily.

A van and a motorcycle parked just beside the bin were not spared from the flames.

From the video, the back of the motorcycle has already caught fire while the van was emitting white smoke at that point in time.

In a photo of the aftermath, the right side of the van was charred beyond recognition.

According to the caption accompanying the video upload, this incident allegedly happened at an open-air carpark located in Bukit Batok in the early morning of 18 Sep.

The post added that two explosions were heard.

Cause Of Fire Under Investigation

According to MS News, SCDF confirmed that they were alerted to the incident at about 1.15am to the fire near Blk 321 on Bukit Batok Street 33 on 18 Sep 2020.

They managed to put out the fire with a foam pack and a hose reel.

It was also verified that the bin which burst into flames was a recycle bin.

The Singapore Police Force was alerted to the incident as well and has classified the case as negligent conduct with respect to any fire, according to Mothership.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Thankfully, besides the innocent motorcycle and van, no other casualties or injuries were reported due to this incident, except maybe the vehicles’ owners’ heartbreaks.
