Here’s what happened.
2 Tower Transit Buses Collided in Bukit Batok Interchange; 14 People Injured with 5 Suffering More Serious Injuries
According to Bukit Batok MP Murali Pillai, one of the buses was entering the interchange while the other was pulling out. That led to a collision in which one of them mount a kerb and fall to its side.
14 people were injured of which 5 of them suffered more serious injuries. None suffered life-threatening injuries.
Tower Transit has told The Straits Times that the 14 injured people were passengers in the bus that flipped over. The other bus wasn’t carrying any passengers.
According to The Straits Times, it’s believed that the accident occurred when the bus without any passenger was making a U-turn within the interchange and collided with the bus that was entering the interchange.
The incoming bus then hit the low fence and landed on its side on a ramp.
Mr Murali said that the matter will be investigated by the authorities.

Bukit Batok Bus Interchange
Bukit Batok Bus Interchange is one of the smallest bus interchanges in Singapore, serving 13 bus routes.
Before the new bus contracting models, it was one of the few bus interchanges operated by Trans-Island Bus Services, which was taken over by SMRT and rebranded as SMRT Buses in 2004.
