Due to the high number of newly-detected cases from the Bukit Merah View area, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be conducting mandatory and voluntary testing for residents (and close contacts), and visitors of 116, 117, 118, 119, 124A, 124B, 125 and 126 Bukit Merah View.
Currently, there are 21 cases of COVID-19 infection detected in 9 different households at 119 Bukit Merah View.
Let’s not also forget about the increasing number of positive cases coming out of the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster.

This isn’t something that’s unprecedented though – the folks over at Block 506 Hougang Avenue 8 might be able to give residents in Bukit Merah View some tips!
Wastewater Contains COVID-19 Viral Fragments
In fact, the infection in Bukit Merah View is high enough to the point where COVID-19 viral fragments were detected in wastewater samples gathered from some of the blocks within the vicinity.
The source of transmission is currently under investigation.
Similar to a previous incident in Hougang, once the source is narrowed down, the entire HDB will need to be tested.
Residents in 8 HDB Blocks in Bukit Merah View to Undergo Mandatory COVID-19 Tests
To catch any undetected community transmission and to potentially stop the spread of the infection in its tracks, the MOH will be conducting mandatory and voluntary testing at designated pavilions in Bukit Merah View from 20 – 21 June.
Here are the details… be sure to take note!
- Estate Pavilion at 125A Bukit Merah View between 9 am to 5 pm – providing testing for 116 and 117 Bukit Merah View.
- Estate Pavilion at 118A Bukit Merah View between 9 am to 4 pm – providing testing for 118 and 119 Bukit Merah View.
- Estate Pavilion at 128A Bukit Merah View between 9 am to 4 pm – providing testing for 124A, 124B, 125 and 126 Bukit Merah View.
The MOH will also conduct voluntary COVID-19 testing for visitors or anyone who has been in contact with residents of 116, 117, 118, 119, 124A, 124B, 125 and 126 Bukit Merah View between 5 June to 19 June 2021.
If you fall into this group of people, please get yourself tested as soon as possible.

Please also take note that testing is only optional for those who have tested negative for COVID-19 infection from 15 June onwards.
If not, testing is compulsory for residents in these 8 HDBs.
What Will You Need to Bring to Get Tested?
You’ll need to bring along your NRIC to the pavilion.
If you reside in any of these HDB blocks, you should also receive SMS notifications with further details.

What to Do After Testing?
According to the MOH, you should minimize social interactions while waiting for your test results.
What Happens If You Test Positive?
If you happened to test positive for COVID-19, you will be immediately isolated.
All of your close contacts within the infection period will also be identified, tested and quarantined.

Residents in these 8 HDB blocks are also advised to keep an eye on their health and to consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell.
