A computer shop owner in Malaysia discovered an unusual calling card left behind by a would-be thief who broke into his store on 31 May 2025.
Computer Shop Burglar Defecates on Kitchen Floor
Li Weixiong, the owner of Care Technology located on Raub Main Street in Pahang state, found human faeces on his kitchen floor following the failed burglary attempt, which occurred at around 10pm.
The intruder had pried open a hole at the bottom of the shop’s rear steel door and entered the premises. Upon realising that Mr Li and his mother were still in the shop, the burglar retreated without taking anything.

Before leaving, the suspect defecated on the kitchen floor despite the presence of a toilet nearby. Mr Li had been working late that evening and left the shop at 11pm. His mother, who lives in the same shophouse, called him at 11.30pm to report the break-in.
Mr Li said he was shocked to find faeces in the kitchen. He initially believed an animal might have entered and began searching each room.
He later discovered a damaged rear door handle and a hole at the bottom of the door. A hammer found outside the door confirmed that someone had attempted to break in.
CCTV Footage Captures Burglar’s Movements and Escape Route
The next day, Mr Li lodged a police report. Officers reviewed CCTV footage from nearby shops, which captured the suspect’s movements.
The video showed the intruder riding a motorcycle into the back alley before parking it elsewhere and returning on foot. Mr Li said the suspect appeared to be aware of the CCTV cameras and used his hand to cover his face while walking.
The burglar did not steal anything and escaped by climbing over a stone wall. Mr Li believes the suspect feared being caught.
He recalled hearing noises at the back of the shop during the incident but assumed they came from nearby youths and did not investigate.
Mr Li suspects this was not the burglar’s first attempt and is urging neighbouring shop owners to remain vigilant and increase security measures.
