Lee Chee Chong was driving his bus along the Tampines Expressway (TPE) slip road when he noticed something alarming while waiting at a traffic light. A young boy was walking by himself directly on the main road, in a spot highly dangerous for pedestrians.

Without hesitation, Lee opened the front doors of his bus and quickly guided the child onboard, away from the busy traffic.
Once the boy was safely inside the bus, Lee contacted SBS Transitโs Operations Control Centre for assistance.
The control centre advised Lee to continue his journey to Bedok Interchange with the boy on board.
Successful School Reunion Through Community Cooperation
At Bedok Interchange, Lee handed the boy over to staff members who recognized his school uniform.
The interchange staff promptly contacted the boyโs primary school about the situation.
The schoolโs vice principal and a teacher arrived at the interchange shortly after receiving the call.
They escorted the young student back to school, where he was finally reunited with his worried parents.
SBS Transit shared this incident in a Facebook post on 4 April 2025, bringing attention to Leeโs quick actions.
