If you are joining the festivities and planning to hang out till late, don’t break the bank by missing the last bus or train.
Public transport services in Singapore will be extended on the eve of National Day, so do take note of the change in timings.
Here is what you need to know.
Operational Hours for Trains Are Extended on National Day Eve
If you are still in Singapore instead of enjoying your time overseas this National Day public holiday, you may want to forget the heat by catching live fireworks in town.
As many partygoers are expected to hit the streets on 8 August 2023, the operational hours of selected buses and trains have been extended.
Let’s start with the train services in Singapore.
SBS Transit announced that the North East Line (NEL), aka the purple line, the Downtown Line (DTL), aka the blue line and the Sengkang and Punggol LRT systems will be extended by about 30 minutes on 8 August 2023.
Likewise, SMRT announced that its train services on the North-South Line (NSL), aka red line, East-West Line (EWL) aka green line, Circle Line (CCL), aka yellow line, and Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), aka brown line, will be extended.
Refer to the table below for the last train departure timings for the NSL, EWL, CCL and TEL.

For buses, SBS Transit will extend the operational hours for 22 selected bus services:
