Back in 2018, this advertisement went viral:

And it’s not a surprise given that it’s such a meme-worthy classified ad. This happened in October 2018, and unfortunately, while October 2020 has just ended, the year in the image is covered.

The image resurfaced online, and it garnered another round of conversation—not something that the café supervisor is happy about, of course.

Cafe Still Receive Prank Calls After Old Adv to Engage “Bird Chasers” Resurfaced Online

For a start, back in 2018, when the ad was out, the supervisor had a dressing down by the boss because they had wanted to engage a dishwasher, but also someone to…erm chase away the birds.

And in a Goody Feed manner, they chose the clickbait manner, of course.

After the café received numerous prank calls, the boss had to make a police report.

It seemed that life is back to normal until a few days ago, when there were calls coming in again asking about the “bird chaser” job.

The supervisor then got to know from one of the callers that the image has been posted online (again).

And in the next few days, the calls kept coming.

He received almost 100 calls, with people asking if the job is real or simply making prank calls.

It seems like as the Internet matures, people don’t.

He’s hoping that people would know, from now on, that the advertisement was posted two years ago, and not to call him anymore.

And by the way, back in 2018, they did manage to find a dishwasher due to the virality of the image.

In fact, it went so viral that two advertising companies offered the supervisor a job in their companies as they admired the creativity in the ad.

Needless to say, the supervisor is still in the café, but this time, they’re not looking for any dishwasher lah. Or birds chaser.
