Remember the hottest drama in 2014? It was none other than You Who Came from the Stars, where an alien from another planet fell in love with a celebrity on Earth.
The drama was so popular that it was the most expensive drama ever sold in China, at USD35,000 per episode. Even famous Chinese celebrities were crazy over the drama and posted on their blogs about it. The best seal of approval is when other popular figures raved about it as well.
If you haven’t gotten enough of Cheon Songyi and her crazy antics, or Do Min-joon and his soulful stare, we have good news for you! Season 2 of the drama is already in production and will be revolving around these two main characters!
However, here’s the piece of very, very bad news: the original actors Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun will not be reprising their roles as the main characters. The cast will be a brand new one instead.
This is indeed terrible news for loyal fans who have waited so long for Season 2. Many fans even believe that the drama would no longer be the same without the original cast. Here are some of the online comments from fans:
“Honestly, it was a success because of Jeon Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun… The drama would be so-so if this pairing’s not in it”
“Don’t think of going through with it if you can’t cast the right actors. Look at ‘Mrs. Cop’ and ‘Iris’ for example. Or when you first made the drama, should have had them signed contracts for another season”
“Better off not making it.. I want to be left with good memories from the first, don’t be uselessly bringing it more hate over this…”
“Can’t look forward to a YWCFTS without Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun in the cast ㅋ Chinese fans would be disappointed too… Nothing can beat the original”
Well, we can’t say that we are not disappointed too. However, we will definitely be waiting to see if the next couple would have as much chemistry as the original two! We hope that the producer will exceed our expectations!
