If you’ve ever been to Canberra, you’d know that while it’s quiet and peaceful, it can get quite boring.

Like any new estate, Canberra residents (in Singapore) have had to travel a little further than others to get the food, recreation, and shopping their heart’s desire.

Well, thanks to a new mall opening in a couple of weeks, they could have all this on their doorsteps very soon.

New Mall with A&W, Canberra Plaza, Opening on 18 Dec

On 28 July, Canberra Plaza announced it would be opening its doors soon, and later teased residents with a little video.

The problem is that “soon” is rather subjective.

When said to your boss about a project you have to complete before you can leave work, “soon” can mean five minutes.

When said by a procrastinator who has to complete a school project, “soon” can mean five months.

Well, now we no longer have to guess how soon “soon” actually is, because the mall confirmed in a Facebook post that it’ll be opening on 18 Dec!

Yes, nearly five months after the announcement, the long wait is finally over.

So, what will the mall have on offer for residents?

39 Confirmed Outlets So Far

Canberra Plaza has a space large enough to house around 70 commercial outlets.

However, only 39 outlets have confirmed they will be opening a store at the mall.

Yes, there are many reasons on this list to smile, but let’s be honest. 

You only came here to confirm that A&W and a bubble tea store will be within walking distance every day. Fortunately for you, they are!

Besides fast food favourites like McDonald’s, A&W, and KFC, customers can also get their boba fix at Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea.

And we can’t forget our favourite place to shop at: DAISO.

Play Park & Community Garden 

If your kids have too much energy to patiently watch you shop at DAISO, let them play with their friends at the plaza’s new water play park.

There will also be a community garden where residents can interact with each other while taking a break from their vigorous shopping adventures.
