Driver Blocked Everyone from Entering the Carpark at King Albert Park Residences after he was Denied Access

It’s one thing to be denied access at the entrance of a carpark.

It’s quite another to be denied access and stay there, thereby affecting numerous other vehicles in the queuing line.

Yet, though it’s a notion that most Singaporeans would struggle to contend with, it appears to be of trivial matter to this particular driver…

Who somehow managed to stay calm even in the face of reprimands and a growing realisation that he was not doing the correct thing.

Driver Blocked Everyone from Entering the Carpark at King Albert Park Residences after he was Denied Access

On Saturday (3 March 2021) at around 11:00 a.m., a driver turned up at the carpark of KAP Residences, only to be denied entry.

Instead of moving away and sorting out the problem separately as many drivers would, he chose to stake it out in the hopes that the management would change their decision.

As a result, his car was left blocking the entrance, leading to over 20 cars in the congestion line.

Apparently, the queue even stretched to the main road: a notion that did not seem to faze the errant driver.

Those in the queue, however, may be feeling a little more than irate. And one of them eventually confronted the driver, filming the scene as he did so.

The 2:59 clip was later uploaded to Facebook page SG Road Vigilante – SRV on 4 April 2021, at around 12:13 a.m.

In the clip, an evidently frustrated man approached the driver and claimed that the police and management have been alerted.

He also accused the driver of being “immature, childish, and irresponsible”.

“For a man your age,” he said. “For a man your age, you should know better.”

Defence

The man behind the camera would later confront the driver again, this time with someone from KAP Residences management.

It was then that the errant driver alleged that he has always been allowed to use the carpark of KAP Residences whenever the carpark at KAP Mall was full.

Apparently, he has done so for a year.

That, despite him being a tenant and not a resident.

He also claimed that someone had given him the green light to do so, but was unable to answer when asked about the identity of that particular person.

He eventually left when told that there were now vacant lots at the mall, but still saw fit to leave a farewell message:

“If there is none, I will do it again, alright?”

Meanwhile, Netizens were largely of the same opinion as the frustrated cameraman, stating that the driver should have acted his age.

Others expressed derogatory comments about his brain, while some noted that he did not have a mask on.

One also seemed to have identified his background, though it has yet to be verified. According to the alleged screenshot, the driver hails from a music background and was previously trained by Mark Moreland, head luthier of Eastman Strings (USA).

He’s also apparently Singapore’s “notable music entrepreneur and master string luthier”, with a reputation for being the largest sheet retailer here in Singapore.

“Wah, what a big shot,” one Netizen said.

“Well, he’d just ‘earned’ a new reputation,” another replied.

Well, that certainly seems to be the case now.
