Many families engage the help of domestic helpers to take care of their children or the elderly as well as to do household chores while they go out to work. While some domestic helpers may steal and abuse their employers, other employers who are fortunate enough to have good experiences with domestic helpers would probably have a lot of good things to share about them.
One particular netizen by the name of Ivan Lim took it to Facebook to share a very heartwarming post about his son, Alex, and his domestic helper, Rizza, who has been with them for the past 10 years.
Man Has Autistic Son
Lim shared that Alex is actually autistic, and despite being 14 and standing at a height of 1.78m, he is still very childlike in nature. As a result, he requires a lot of supervision from adults, which Rizza helps with.
Rizza joined their family when Alex was only four years old, and after spending 10 whole years together, they’ve become the best of friends.
Lim then goes on to talk about his worries about Alex when he and his partner are no longer in this world. He worries about what would become of him when they’re no longer there to care for him.
“Don’t Worry”
On Sunday evening, when they were having dinner, Lim asked Rizza half-jokingly if she would consider adopting Alex when he and his partner were no longer around. And without missing a beat, Rizza replied, “Don’t worry, sir. I will take care of him.”
I don’t know about you but that brought tears to my eyes.
It is challenging to take care of someone who has special needs, and it definitely takes a lot to do so especially when that person isn’t related to you by blood. We’ve heard of many cases where even spouses can no longer tolerate their partners and choose to abuse them instead out of frustration.
It is so heartwarming to see this friendship bloom, and it’s even more heartwarming to know that this domestic helper would give her promise to her employer that she would take care of their son so they don’t have to worry.
We wish nothing but the best for this beautiful family.
