Cat Put In ‘Solitary Confinement’ For Repeatedly Freeing Other Cats At Shelter

There’s a saying that goes a little something like this: Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.

This poor kitty definitely did not get the memo.

Why would you put a cat in solitary confinement!?

Solitary confinement? You might be thinking of a small enclosed space devoid of any semblance of life.

But don’t worry, no kitties were harmed or abused in any way.

Quilty, the cat in question wanted to overthrow the gahmen (humans) and join the rebellion.

Brothers-in-arms is what they call it.

And no cage or animal shelter is gonna stop them. Nope.

Quilty, a 6-year-old rescue cat was determined to free himself and his fellow furry friends from Friends for Life Animal Shelter in Houston Texas.

This is our dear Quilty serving his time:

Looks like a pretty comfortable “solitary confinement” space, doesn’t it?

And here is him pleading the prison guard and saying, “Please get meowt“.

Why Quilty Is Serving Time

“Quilty can be a little difficult,” said Jennifer Hopkins, the communications lead at Friends for Life.

Hmm, a little?

Quilty began staying at the shelter just a few months ago. Hopkins explains that after he arrived, the door to the room kept mysteriously opening.

Was it a ghost? Nope, it was just a furry cat.

Hopkins told CNN that they would then have to collect all the 15 cats.

“We would come in in the morning and have to collect all 15 of the cats who had had a blast during the night.”

For those who are unfamiliar, shelters usually keep the cats in a room at night so they don’t cause any trouble outside.

After looking at CCTV footage, they realised that Quilty would jump up and pull the handle down on the door.

This happened a grand total of three times, effectively letting out the other 12 cats.

The staff were forced to put Quilty in “solitary confinement” while they made it Quilty proof.

Word on the street is that many people are now interested in adopting Quilty. To be very honest, I would too if Quilty wasn’t oceans away. I envy Quilty’s future hooman!
