What do you call it when your cat does something totally stupid that inconveniences you?
A catastrophe. (Pun totally intended.)

But you love your cat anyway. However weird and disastrous the things they do might be, they are still so incredibly and endearingly adorable in trying to fix it.
And who doesn’t love a good story about cute cats and their ridiculous adventures?
Just Like This One
Haryanto Pherwirra Ramadhani experienced one such catastrophe with his cat, as he shared on Kami Pecinta Kuching, an Indonesian Facebook page for cat lovers.
The viral post has garnered over 6.6k shares and almost 1,000 comments thus far.
His cat had been playing around on his bed, where it found a long and interesting new toy to play with – his earpiece.
So, in usual curious cat fashion, his playful cat started to chew on the earpiece until it was bitten off cleanly in half.
RIP.
Haryanto became upset that his earpiece had been used as his cat’s new toy and began to nag at his cat for doing so.

Which is completely understandable, because who could live without their earpiece? And it’s expensive!
Cat’s Reaction
Like a scene from a drama, his cat ran out of the house.
Children tend to run away from home at that age, especially when they get scolded.
However, Haryanto’s cat returned about an hour later with a sweet gift for his owner – a small snake.
Considering that the snake was thin and long, much like the now destroyed earpiece, the cat was most likely thinking that by catching a snake and bringing it back for Haryanto, it would be able to replace his earpiece.

Awww, what a sweet and thoughtful kitty!
We’re not very sure how Haryanto would be able to put his new replacement earpiece to good use, however.

Perhaps he’s secretly a Parseltongue and can talk to snakes like Harry Potter can, in which case the snake can sing sweet tunes into his ear.
Why is The Cat Doing That?
If you think the cat is seriously mistaking the snake as a cable, you’re wrong.
Apparently, cats are born hunters – in other words, they’ve predatory DNA. Usually, cats would kill small animals and give them to their family.

However, as a domestic cat’s family is you, they’ll, of course, bring it to you.
So most likely, Haryanto just has a cat that loves him and not a cat that can’t tell the difference between an earpiece and a snake.
