There is no love, no light when there is no 24 hours McDonald’s at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Could it be true? Is this some kind of sick joke. If it is, I don’t find it very funny.
But if it is indeed true, then…
Changi Airport T2 McDonald’s Closing Down On 31 Jan 2019 at Midnight
As an Eastie and someone with a hard rule for junk food before hopping on board an aeroplane, I have countless memories at McDonald’s at Changi Airport’s T2, as I’m sure you do too.
All the late nights spent mugging there just because it’s 24 hours and relatively quiet at night.
Not forgetting all the late-night snackies: ie McSpicy and fries that are way too salty to ever be healthy.
It’s just one of those places that you don’t ever think will close. And then it does.
A Redditor by the username of u/dkmag posted a picture of a poster allegedly claiming that McDonald’s at Changi Airport Terminal 2 will close after 16 years on 31 January 2020 at midnight.
However, other Redditors speculated that it is only temporary and the reason for the closure is because T2 is closing down for renovations “for about a year” as part of T2’s five-year expansion project.
That said, these are all speculations and at this time, only the fact that McDonald’s at Changi Airport Terminal 2 is closing can be confirmed.
We can’t know for sure if the outlet will reopen until McDonald’s releases an official announcement, which thus far they have not.
Other Outlets At The Airport
For those who are distraught and wondering where else you can mug overnight at, don’t worry because there are 2 other outlets at the airport which are open 24 hours and are in the public area.
- Terminal 3 (Level 1)
- Terminal 4 (Level 2)
