There’s a reason why the saying goes, “Shop till you drop”, and not “Shop till everything drops”.
Regardless, some irresponsible shoppers at the Decathlon outlet in City Square Mall seem to live by the latter instead.
Video of Chaos Left Behind by Shoppers in Decathlon City Square Mall Goes Viral
On Sunday (14 May), a TikTok user named @vinnography posted a video showing the chaos left behind at a Decathlon outlet in City Square Mall.
@vinnography Respect to all retail staffs 🫡 #fyp #sg #decathlon @Decathlon Singapore ♬ Epic Music(863502) – Draganov89
The 21-second clip walks us through different parts of the Decathlon store, showing sneakers, slippers and sandals strewn all over the floor.
It starts by showing the mess in presumably the children’s section.
Kids, Decathlon is not a playground lah.

As the man walks through the store, we see several balls scattered by the side of the aisle on the floor.
The shoppers really “dropped the ball” with their shopping etiquette here.
The man then shows the chaos in what is presumably the adults’ shoes section, where slides and slippers are all over the place.
Eh hello, this is Decathlon, not your local pasar malam.
We also see several pairs of shoes strewn on and beside benches, presumably left behind after shoppers tried them on.
The TikTok user who posted the video also clarified in the comments that he had stumbled upon this mess when visiting the Decathlon outlet over the weekend.
No wonder retail staff hate doing weekend shifts…
Chaos Left Behind By Shoppers “Too Much” for Decathlon Staff to Handle
With all the mess made, someone has to clean it up—the retail staff at City Square Mall’s Decathlon outlet.
And as @vinnography himself said, the mess was “just too much for them to handle”.
In the TikTok, we see several shots of the Decathlon staff tidying up the store and standing over the chaos shoppers left behind.
They probably contemplated quitting their jobs when they saw the shoes strewn all over the floor. Dulan.
The user also commended the Decathlon staff for their hard work clearing the mess.
They should start giving “Employee of the Month” to every Decathlon employee at the City Square Mall outlet. They all deserve it.
A netizen claiming to work at another Decathlon outlet shared that although shoppers at their outlet often leave a mess behind, it isn’t as bad as the mess left behind in the City Square Mall outlet.
The bar is really in hell here.
Several netizens also speculated that a particular demographic of shoppers likely caused this mess given City Square Mall’s proximity to Mustafa—to which we say let’s not jump to conclusions.
Instead, let this unfortunate incident remind us to observe shopping etiquette when we head out. Let’s not make the lives of retail staff harder than it already is.
