As any gym rat would attest to, chicken breast is amongst the best muscle-building staples known to mankind.
With a truckload of protein, minimal calories and a taste that can only appeal to the wildest of men, chicken breast is revered within the gym-hitting circle, and rightfully so.
“And?” asked my no-nonsense editor. “What’re you getting at?”
Well, let’s just say that the early morning of 25 June would have been any gym rat’s wet dream;
What with the literal chicken buffet running around on the ever-charismatic Kranji Expressway.
Early Morning Accident in KJE Led to Chickens Escaping from Their Cages
Gauging by several photos on Facebook, there was a little ‘chicken party’ going on at KJE in the early morning of 25 June.
A lorry had overturned, and all the chickens that were contained in crates were strewn on the floor.
With nothing between them and the sweet temptation that’s freedom, they then started their own road tour.
Well, that must have been an enriching experience for the critters.
No Major Injuries Were Reported
According to the Singapore Civil Defence Force(SCDF), a person was ascertained to have suffered minor injuries from the incident.
“On June 25, at about 4.15am, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic accident along the KJE towards Woodlands, near the BKE exit. A person was assessed by a SCDF paramedic for minor injuries but subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital.
It’s unclear how many chickens were killed or injured in the process.
The Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) was also blocked off as a result of the accident.
Be Safe On The Roads
The chicken party might have been an interesting, even entertaining notion, but the fact’s that the nature of the accident is nothing comedic.
Although the person only suffered minor injuries this time around, it can’t be said of other accidents, which have seen worse consequences for less.
And so, always stay vigilant and safe on the road. Because in the end, it only takes that one slip-up…
