9YO Girl Allegedly Abused at Childcare Centre for Returning 30 Min Late From Lunch; Police Investigating

When you send your kid to a childcare centre, obviously you’d expect them to care for your child.

But for one mother, had discovered the exact opposite when her child returned home from the childcare centre.

On 26 March 2021, Ms Xue had noticed that something strange on her 9-year-old daughter’s arm during dinner.

She saw visible scratch marks on her daughter’s arm and even bleeding, according to MustShareNews.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the girl was initially reluctant to tell her mother what had happened when she was questioned.

After pressing her, the girl later revealed that she had been punished for being half an hour late to the stipulated lunchtime at the childcare centre.

The punishment lasted for 45 minutes and involved scratching her arm, pulling her hair and shaking her body over 10 times.

The girl struggled and repeatedly cried out in pain, but the teacher did not stop the abusive action.

She also claimed that the teacher had placed a bag on her head and attempted to wrap it around her neck.

Childcare Centre’s Response

The centre’s person-in-charge has denied all allegations of abuse and accuses Ms Xue of slander.

He also claims that these are Ms Xue’s attempts at extortion.

On Shin Min Daily’s Facebook post, many users are calling for a review of the childcare centre’s CCTV footage. Many sympathised with the young girl and pointed out that it was unlikely that she would have lied about her abuse.

The girl’s mother has lodged a police report and investigations are ongoing.

1YO Allegedly Injured by 2 Childcare Teachers

Sadly, this wasn’t the first case. On 13 January 2021, Facebook user Mirielle Innam published an accusatory post on the social media site.

In the post, she claimed that her 16-month-old daughter had been abused by two educators at PCF Sparkletots on 8 October 2020.

Apparently, her daughter had suffered a pulled elbow.

Though the teacher-in-charge had apologised for her actions, the parent felt that the centre had not taken the matter seriously and thus decided to pursue further action.

Due to crippling legal costs, however, the parents of the child were unable to go through with a formal lawsuit.

Instead, they decided to go public to warn other parents of prospective child abuse at centres.

Investigations were carried out by both PCF and ECDA, and the child was found to have sustained a pulled elbow from being inappropriately handled.

PCF, as well as the teachers involved, have since apologised and expressed their deepest regrets. PCF has also been penalised, and the two teachers have been suspended.
