China Hit Dating Show ‘If You Are The One’
非诚勿扰 (If You Are The One) is a popular dating show in China which tries to match males and females together.
People who get onto the show are expected to become friends with their “chosen one”, with the intention of getting married to each other.
The show is hosted by Meng Fei, a well-known host in China for his sharp wit and a hilarious sense of humour.
Over the past 8 years, China dating show If You Are The One has been all over the world, hosting participants from Australia, UK, France, Canada, Korea, New Zealand, Germany and more.
And now, Singapore is their next stop.
The TV program is looking for females aged 20-45 years old and males aged 23-50 years old.
Other requirements include:
- Have a good attitude
- Pleasant-looking
- Have good communication skills
- Have a stable and proper job.
And of course, they are probably expected to understand Mandarin.
Here’s the timeline for your consideration before you make a decision:
- 18 Aug: Start of recruitment in Singapore
- Nov 2018: Production team arrives in Singapore to interview female guests and record VCR of male guests.
- Dec 2018: Male and female applicants to fly to Nanjing, China to record the show
- 19 Feb: Singapore edition airs.
Surprisingly, Singaporean guys are pretty welcomed on the show. At least based on this Singaporean who had everybody showing interest in him the moment he appeared on stage.

Registration is free and successful applicants will have to fly to Nanjing, China to record the show.
It was also mentioned that the production team will be paying for half of the cost of food, accommodations and flight tickets.
