Streamer Responds and Denies Misconduct
An account believed to belong to the female streamer later posted a statement online. The streamer said she returned 100,000 yuan (~SGD$17,813)) after learning about the man’s family situation.
However, some streamers seeking to gain traffic deliberately exaggerated the situation or spread false information. This pushed both her and the man’s wife into the spotlight, subjecting them to public criticism.
Xiong stated that her relationship with Huang was strictly that of a streamer and fan. She claimed their interactions were appropriate and that she never used private messages or emotional manipulation to solicit tips.
A netizen posted on 11 Jun 2025 that a settlement agreement had been signed on 10 June under the mediation of relevant authorities.
According to a receipt photo attached to the post, the streamer had returned 150,000 yuan through WeChat, Alipay transfers, and cash. The receipt bore Huang’s signature as the recipient.
The female streamer also displayed a receipt during her live broadcast the following day, confirming she had returned 150,000 yuan out of humanitarian consideration.
