I am guilty of indulging in the black hole of wedding videos on my free time. Afterwards, I create a makeshift vow for my non-existent soon-to-be lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold –
It’s a toxic habit – through sickness and in health till death do us part.
But hey, a girl is allowed to dream. Because according to Julia Roberts, love is supposed to feel a lot like the ending of Notting Hill and I am not settling for anything less than Hugh Grant.
Unless you’re this guy from China.
A video that has recently taken the Chinese social media by storm showed this man’s dedication and service to his pregnant wife. He simply positioned himself as a makeshift chair for her.
Now to find somebody who would do the same for me during my morning commute to work. Any takers?
Couple Had Been Waiting For Their Turn
If you haven’t seen the clip already, here it is.
The beginning of the clip suggests that the couple had been waiting for their turn in the hospital.
The man had been holding on to his wife and possibly guiding her as she bent over slightly. The cause of this episode remains unknown. However, the struggle is pretty clear.
As a response, the man crouched awkwardly into a squat and directed his wife to sit on his back.
We all are familiar to the saying, “Happy wife, happy life.”
This guy seems to know it all at the back of his hands. I wouldn’t be surprised if he religiously recites it as a personal mantra.
As the clip progresses, he proceeds to offer his wife a bottle of water. Which she gulps down soon after.
Do we have an Oscar’s type of award for husbands like him?
Netizens Are Equal Parts Touched and Angry
The video was also uploaded on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo.
Undoubtedly, many were touched at the man’s act of kindness towards his wife. That’s a point right there! The dedication was pretty unbelievable… Three cheers to him.
Like what this guy said, “this is what true love looks like.”
In the midst of the praises directed towards the man, many Chinese netizens were also quick to question why nobody gave up their seats for the pregnant lady.
Well… We can’t please everybody. What do you think?
Though one thing is for certain, she’s got herself the realest of all baby daddies. Now off to find myself a human chair machine contraption!
