Cloud Eggs: The latest Food Fad to Hit S’poreans’ Instagram

Instagram has always been the platform for netizens to share and find out about the latest food trends and the cafes to try out. O

ther than that, it has also served as a place where many cooking fanatics conjugate to come up with the most Instagram-worthy dishes. 

Just recently, images of ‘Cloud Eggs’ have been popping up on various Instagram feeds and they essentially look like this. 

Looks pretty, huh?

In fact, these ‘cloud eggs’ are just like your everyday sunny-side ups, just that they have a different ‘cloud-like’ texture to the egg whites that make them so pretty – almost too pretty to be eaten. And not only do they look good, they are rather easy to prepare as well!

And for those of you who are as intrigued as I am, here’s a little recipe for you to try this Instagram trend at home!

Recipe for ‘Cloud Eggs’

  1. Separate the eggs and the yolks, and then you whip the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
  2. Then stir in some Parmesan cheese and scoop out the fluffy eggs onto a baking sheet covered in parchment paper.
  3. Make a little indentation for the yolk, but don’t put it in yet  
  4. Bake the clouds for two minutes, then take them out and add the yolk
  5. Bake for another three. Make sure they they don’t turn too brown.
