ComfortDelGro Taxi Spotted Driving Along the Walkway of MBS

Picture the scene: it’s a warm Sunday afternoon and you’ve just completed a gruelling two-hour round of shopping at Marina Bay Sands (MBS).

More than anything, you want to escape the Singapore sun and get back to your comfy, air-conditioned room.

You try to book a ride back home on your phone but there seem to be no available drivers in the area.

Just as you’re about to give up, you see a blue taxi pass by you, just inches away from you.

You’re excited, but also confused, as you’re still at the entrance of MBS.

Sound insane? Well, this actually happened recently.

ComfortDelGro Taxi Spotted Driving Along the Walkway of MBS

A video of a ComforDelgro cab driving along the walkway of MBS is making the rounds on social media.

Footage of the bizarre incident was first shared by the Instagram page sgfollowsall, before being reposted by ROADS.sg

In the video, a blue Comfort taxi can be seen driving along the walkway of MBS, near the entrance of the building.

Large groups of people are walking on either side of the cab as it moves along the walkway.

The cab then makes a left turn at a sign meant for pedestrians, and it seems like it’d finally find its way back to the road, where it belongs.

But no.

It first goes one round around an unidentifiable building and disappears for a bit.

It then emerges, like a bolt from the blue, at the very same area where it was first spotted.

Other images of the cab at the walkway show hordes of people around it, including cyclists and rollerbladers.

The incident is believed to have taken place at the MBS walkway yesterday (3 Oct).

“This is not a road and he endangered pedestrians who are in the hundreds. He should be taken to task for this wrong doing,” ROADS.sg said.

Netizen: Cabbie Must Have Known the Walkway Was Not Meant For Vehicles

A netizen on Hardware Zone noted that the MBS walkway used to have bollards to prevent vehicles from entering the walkway.

He speculated that the only way the taxi could have gotten to the place where it was filmed was from the road leading to the MBS carpark.

He added that it’s “impossible” to end up there without knowing it was not meant for vehicles, as the driver would have had to mount a curb.

Until more details of the incident are released, the mystery of the MBS walkway taxi will remain unsolved.

In all likelihood, he probably just got lost.
