Spoiler alert: For all the horror fans out there who’ve already caught The Conjuring 2, you would have known Valak, who’s currently in Hell (since she got summoned back by the Warrens.)

Or even if you didn’t, you’re bound to know the highlight of the movie from Facebook or Twitter—this horrific nun who looks exactly like Marilyn Manson’s twin sister.

With all the teasers and images centred on her, many would have thought that The Conjuring 2’s plot is about this demonic nun but to fans’ dismay, the actual plot revolves around another spirit, Bill Wilkins.

And we don’t even want to start on the retarded crooked man.

With all the premonitions, dreams and painting of this nun, you would want to think that she is actually a HUGE deal. Unfortunately, due to her little actual screen time, the nun appears randomly, leading to an “unresolved” story.

BUT director and producers of The Conjuring 2 will shed some light on the demonic nun soon enough in a spinoff, “The Nun”, which is currently in works now.

Here are the facts you need to know about the nun—so you get a better picture of her if seeing her in theatres wasn’t enough.

The Nun is said to be a prequel to The Conjuring 2
Similar to the concept of Annabelle being a spinoff of The Conjuring, The Nun is going to be the next most creepy subject on Earth. And since the nun (also known as Valak) is in actual human form and not an object, she is going to be one hell of a case.

The Nun’s story may help you understand the connection between the Amityville horror and Enfield Poltergeist
We haven’t quite understood how the Nun plays a part in the Amityville horror—the murderous scene which the Warrens first investigated before they moved on to the Enfield Poltergeist. Lorraine was overwhelmed by the sense of a demonic presence during the Amityville horror, so this demon Valak might be related to the Amityville horror.

Or, maybe not. She’s just scary as hell.

Valak may very well be a little boy, not a nun
Surprise! Valak is actually a known demon and not just a Tom, Dick or Harry that the producers of Conjuring 2 came up with.

According to demonology, Valak is a small boy with angel wings, the great president of Hell who is known to ride a two-headed dragon.

This little boy also commands 30 legions of demons, so yes Bill Wilkins may well be just ONE of his little puppets since he is so powerful.

So, why a Nun?
Director James Wan admitted that the concept of the Nun was an eleventh-hour inspiration. He had no clue of how the demon will look like until he spoke to real-life Lorraine Warren one day.

What Lorraine Warren depicted during one of her encounters of a dark hooded figure was later translated to a demonic nun by James Wan, adding to his series of re-shoots.
