Well, if you feel the same way and you feel that you’re ready to take the next step, how about adopting a cute Corgi of your own?
6 Corgis Up for Adoption; Would-Be Adopters Can’t Live in HDB Flats & Must Be Patient
On 17 June, Facebook page Voices For Animal put up a Facebook post on their page, looking for would-be corgi owners.
They have 6 corgis up for adoption, all of them females 6 years old and above.
Five of them are brown and white while one is tricoloured.
They added that some of the corgis can’t get along with other dogs and some are fearful and may not be suitable for families with young children.
The most important criteria to adopt one of these cute doggos is:
- Family cannot be living in HDB as Corgis are not HDB-approved dogs

A Lifetime Commitment
One thing that has been emphasised by Voices For Animals, again and again, is this:
Getting a dog is a lifetime commitment; be sure that you can handle everything about your new family member, not just their cuteness.
Voices For Animals has always been consistent in their message to Singaporeans looking to adopt: it’s a lifetime responsibility.
And their requirements for adopters have always been stringent.
Just take a look at a dog adoption drive they held previously:
Be sure that you’re ready to be responsible before you approach them. Trust me, they can tell.
Adopt, Don’t Buy
Buying puppies from pet shops isn’t illegal but you might be unintentionally supporting puppy mills in their operations.
Puppy mills are places which priorities profit over animal welfare and unethically breed dogs for sale.
Many netizens pointed out that owners often end up with sick or weak dogs when they purchase them from puppy mills.
But how can you tell if a store is a puppy mill? Here are some signs to look out for:
- Small cages with wire floors that hurt dog feet and legs
- Cages stacked on top of one another without ample ventilation
- Poor sanitary practices, leading to illness and parasites
- Forced breeding of female dogs with little time for recovery between litters
- Puppies separated from their mother at too young an age, which can impact health and behaviour for years to come
According to Rover, puppy mills typically sell puppies through pet stores, or directly to consumers through the Internet and classified ads
Due to the poor breeding and living conditions, many of these puppies end up with parasites, kennel cough, pneumonia, and other ailments.
So the best way to know that you’re doing the best thing not just for your dog, but all dogs worldwide?
Adopt, don’t buy.
