Remember back then when the authorities mentioned that we would be seeing more imported COVID-19 cases in Singapore, and told us to be mentally prepared?
Well, it seems like we’re used to imported cases nowadays.
Today, 12 new COVID-19 cases were reported, and 9 of them are imported.

12 new COVID-19 Cases in S’pore Today (14 Mar); 9 Are Imported Cases
9 of the cases are likely imported cases. They are
- A 44-year-old male Singaporean who had been to the mass religious gathering at a mosque in Malaysia
- A 36-year-old female Singaporean who had been to Indonesia from 6 March to 8 March
- A 32-year-old male American who works in Singapore and has been in Japan from 29 February to 8 March
- A 30-year-old female Filipino who lives in Singapore and had been to the Philippines from 27 February to 6 March
- A 33-year-old female New Zealand national who lives in Singapore and had been to the US from 28 February to 13 March
- A 40-year-old female Singaporean who had been to the UK from 6 March to 11 March
- A 32-year-old female Singaporean who had been in the US from 2 March to 7 March
- A 56-year-old male German national who lives in Singapore and had been in Germany from 27 to 3 March and Switzerland from 3 March to 10 March
- A 64-year-old male Indonesian who came from Indonesia
In a nutshell, these are places that they would have been infected:
- US – 2
- Indonesia – 2
- Malaysia – 1
- Japan – 1
- Philippines – 1
- UK – 1
- Germany or Switzerland – 1
There is one patient who is linked to the SAFRA Jurong cluster: a 52-year-old female Singapore. This brings the total cases in the cluster to be at 45.
One patient, a 35-year-old female Filipino national who is a Singapore Long Term Visit Pass holder, is linked to a previously reported case, Case 142.
The last patient is a 26-year-old female Singapore whose source of infection is unknown yet, and she was confirmed to carry the virus this morning.
Updates on Confirmed Cases
All in all, there are now 212 confirmed cases in Singapore.
105 patients have since recovered and are discharged, while 14 are in ICU now. This is an increase from yesterday’s 11.
The conditions of the remaining patients are either stable or improving.
As of noon today, MOH has identified 5,244 close contacts who have been quarantined. Of these, 1,712 are currently quarantined, and 3,532 have completed their quarantine.
