There have been more and more coronavirus cases in Singapore recently and as of now, the largest cluster is at SAFRA Jurong.
A 58-year-old hairdresser was one of the newer cases, more specifically 1 of the 12 new confirmed cases in Singapore on Sunday, 8 March.
See the thing is, she had already developed the symptoms but had continued to serve her customers.
But her customers don’t blame her though.
COVID-19-Positive Hairdresser Attended to 10 Customers While Ill But Customers Don’t Blame Her
She had attended to customers although she had already developed symptoms but said that she always made sure to wear a mask.
The woman works from her home in Jurong West Street 74 and first reported symptoms last Tuesday.
She was only tested for the virus and found to be infected with it on Saturday. She has been linked to the Safra Jurong dinner cluster.
Thus far, there have been a total of 36 known cases in the SAFRA Jurong cluster.
She spoke to Lianhe Wanbao and told them that she had seen 10 customers from Tuesday to Saturday.
On Tuesday, she began to have a blocked nose and told her customers that she wasn’t feeling very well before her appointments.
She said, “Some of them I told over the phone (that I was sick), and the rest I told them when they arrived at my house. But most of them said they were not worried.
“I normally wear a mask for hygiene reasons when cutting hair anyway, and that was what I did then.”

“I don’t normally go to see the family doctor for minor illnesses but given the current situation, I thought it was best to be careful,” she said.
“But both times I went, the doctor just said that my throat was a little swollen, and that it was probably just a regular cold. My throat didn’t hurt, and I also wasn’t coughing.”
On Saturday, after feeling unsatisfied and uneasy, she went to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital where she was finally diagnosed with the COVID-19.
Well, kudos to her for presenting herself a hospital.
Assisting MOH With Contact Tracing
After she was confirmed to have the virus, she has helped the Ministry of Health do contact tracing so that they can get in touch with all the customers who have been affected.
“I was quite worried what my customers might say but they didn’t blame me and many, in fact, tried to console me, saying that they knew I took the appropriate precautions,” she said.
Her symptoms, however, seemed mild.
She only had a slight fever after she was admitted to hospital but is now feeling better. However, she has yet to be discharged because the doctors are still performing checks on her.
Situation In Singapore
