17 COVID-19 Cases Today (14 Mar); All Are Imported Cases

It’s yet another day with zero community case.

As of 12pm today (14 March), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 17 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

All of them are imported cases.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 60,105.

Based on yesterday’s figures, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 4 cases in the week before to 2 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 3 cases in the week before to 2 cases in the past week.

Singapore Reported the 30th COVID-19 Death

In an evening update from the Ministry of Health (MOH) on 13 March 2021, it was reported that Singapore now has one more COVID-19 fatality.

The patient, a 61-year-old Singaporean man, was an imported case from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He was in the UAE for work and returned to Singapore on 30 Jan 2021.

Just before he left for Singapore, the man experienced shortness of breath and developed a cough.

He tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival in Singapore.

On 12 Mar 2021, the man passed away from complications due to COVID-19.

It was added that he has a past history of hypertension, hyperlipidaemia and gout.

97 Active Cases

There are currently 17 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

80 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.

30 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
