It’s 15 July, and as people waited with bated breath, the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported a figure that had everyone heaving a sigh of relief. Probably.
As of 12pm, MOH preliminarily reported 249 new Covid-19 cases in Singapore.
There are 5 imported cases who have been placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) since they arrived in Singapore.
There are 15 cases in the community[Refer to update above], 3 are work pass holders and 12 are work permit holders.
Foreign workers residing in dormitories make up a vast majority of the cases.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore has risen to 46,878.
27th Covid-19 Death
After maintaining the status quo for some time, Singapore experienced its 27th Covid-19 death yesterday.
The patient is case 17,168 and was tested positive on 30 Apr 2020.
He has a history of hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes and passed away due to complications from Covid-19.
According to MSNews, case 17,168 is the remaining patient in the Intensive Care Unit due to Covid-19.
With his unfortunate death, there are no Covid-19 cases in ICU.
4 Out Of 7 Community Cases On 14 Jul Unlinked Unlinked
On 14 Jul 2020, 7 community cases were reported: 1 Singaporean, 3 work pass holders and 3 work permit holders.
3 out of the 7 cases are contacts of previously-confirmed cases and were already placed on quarantine.
The remaining four are still unlinked and epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
All four cases are in the construction industry and were detected as part of MOH’s proactive screening of persons in essential services who are living outside the dormitories.
The two imported cases announced on 14 Jul are Singaporeans who have just returned from India on 9 July.
They were placed on 14-day SHNs and were detected when they were swabbed during this period.
Two Other Places Added To MOH’s List
MOH has added two new places to its list of places Covid-19 patients visited:
- JEM Dian Xiao Er (30 Jun 2020 / 1155h to 1240h)
- FoodXchange @ Admiralty (6 Jul 2020 / 1005h to 1400h, 7 Jul 2020 / 0955h to 1255h)

If you have been to these places during the same time period as the Covid-19 cases, monitor your health for the next 14 days.
Stay away from others and seek a doctor immediately if you show even the slightest hint of symptoms.
