If you’ve not been affected by COVID-19, then you’d have started to see the economic effects of COVID-19, what with the plea from an iconic eatery to the retrenchment in one of Singapore’s most beloved attractions.

And if you’ve just started to look at the number, just know this: today is still as stable as usual.

Today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 327 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore.

9 are community cases, with 6 of them being Singaporeans or Singapore PRs.

In addition, there are 3 imported cases who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice.

The majority of the cases are resident in dormitories.

This means in total, Singapore now has 47,453 cases.

Based on yesterday’s number, on average, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 16 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 12 per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased, from an average of 8 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 7 per day in the past week.

Resort World Sentosa Double Whammy

Unless you live in a cave, you’d know about Resort World Sentosa’s latest retrenchment exercise, which you might have seen it coming since the outbreak occurred.

Yesterday, it’s also revealed that its casino has been visited not once but three times by a person or persons who are still infectious with the coronavirus.

RWS has suspended all its attractions from 6 April 2020 during the Circuit Breaker and Phase 1, and only selected eateries in the premises were open then.

The attractions reopened from 1 July 2020, though with lots of restrictions and reduced capacity. The Casino is reopened as well but it’s only for existing Genting Rewards members and/or Annual Levy Holders.

Other than RWS, several new locations were added to the list of places that an infectious person has been to.

There’s, of course, no need to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been.

In the meantime, it’s time to download the TraceTogether app if you’ve not done so. If you’re worried about privacy because you often go to places you really shouldn’t go, don’t worry: your privacy is safe. Watch this video and you’d understand:
