11 COVID-19 Cases Today (18 Sept), The Lowest Since 12 March

Things are looking goody for Singapore because, today, as of 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 11 cases of COVID-19 infection in Singapore – the lowest since 12 March.

There is 1 case in the community., and it is a Singaporean.

There is also 1 imported case, who had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has decreased, from an average of 2 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 1 per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at fewer than 1 case per day in the past 2 weeks.

Details on Yesterday’s Cases

There were 18 cases yesterday (17 September 2020), and all 18 cases were asymptomatic. They were detected from screening and surveillance.

If you guys recall, this is a deja-vu moment as the 27 new cases reported two days ago, too, as they were all asymptomatic too.

What this means is that the person doesn’t show any symptoms of contracting Covid-19, such as cough and fever, or only experiences mild symptoms.

The only community case came from a work pass holder, a 48-year-old Indian national.

The case was detected during the Rostered Routine Testing (RRT) of workers in the construction, marine and process sectors who are living outside the dormitories.

This is an unlinked case.

The two imported cases were from a work pass holder currently employed in Singapore, who arrived from France on 4 September. The other is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from India on 5 September.

Both had been placed on 14-day stay-home notice when they arrived in Singapore. They were tested while serving their isolation period.
