Yesterday, we might have 12 new Covid-19 cases but one thing that has people in Singapore happy is that none are local transmission, whether dormitory or community cases.

Today, it seems that we’re still on track to Phase 3 given that we’re now back to single-digit.

As of 12pm on 22 Oct 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) preliminarily reported 8 new Covid-19 cases.

There are 7 imported cases, all of which were placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) or isolated upon arrival in Singapore.

There is also 1 new case of local transmission in the dormitories.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore to 57,941.

Thailand Now Opening Borders To S’porean Tourists

Besides our stellar performance (so far) at suppressing Covid-19 transmission, Thailand is now opening up their borders to Singaporean tourists, although after you hear about their restrictions, you’ll rather visit Golden Mile.

It involves a 90-day stay, a ton of money in your bank account most people in Singapore wouldn’t have and more.

You can find out more here.

Speaking of being on track to Phase 3, it might be good to make sure you either have TraceTogether on your phone (and using it), or a TraceTogether token, seeing how places are starting to require both safe entry and TraceTogether before you can enter.

For those who have phones with batteries that regularly die, there’s some good news for you.

TraceTogether Tokens Now Available For Collection

The first batch of TraceTogether tokens was given out to a select group of 10,000 seniors in June 2020 and now, you can collect your own token too if you don’t want your battery to continue dying on you, or you’re just uncomfortable leaving your Bluetooth on.

Collection points have been expanded to more than 38 locations as well, with another 13 more to come by 7 November 2020, according to the TokenGoWhere website.

So no matter whether you’re at the north, south, east or west of Singapore, you can get one for yourself.

This includes:

  • 38 community clubs and centres
  • 13 upcoming mobile booths

To get yours, all you have to do is visit token.gowhere.gov.sg and key in your postal code for the details.

Then, depending on your location, you’ll either be able to collect it at a community centre or club, or a TraceTogether Mobile Booth.

Once there, just present your NRIC and you’ll be issued your token.

Your child can collect the token herself, as long as she’s above the age of seven.

You can also collect tokens on behalf of your family members as long as you bring along their identity cards.

Don’t worry about privacy concerns because the device doesn’t track location and data is regularly deleted from the device unless you become a contact of an earlier-confirmed case.

Considering that more public venues and even workplaces and schools will start implementing TraceTogether-only SafeEntry to prepare for Phase 3, it’d be a good idea to get your token now, especially if you don’t want to use the app.

Users who require assistance with their tokens can e-mail [email protected] or call 6973-6511. The hotline is operational on weekdays, from 9am to 6pm.
