5 COVID-19 Cases Today (25 Oct); No Community Case With 3 Imported Cases

As you’d probably know by now, it’s not a goody day yesterday as there were two community cases, and they were both unlinked.

Thankfully, today is better

Today (25 October 2020), as of 12 pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 5 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

3 are imported while 2 are dorm cases. In other words, there isn’t any community case today.

This brings the total number of cases to 57,970.

On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 4 cases in the week before, to 3 in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 1 case in the week before, to 3 in the past week.

2 Community Cases Reported Yesterday Both Worked in Changi Airport T3

The two community cases that were reported on Saturday (24 Oct) worked at Changi Airport Terminal 3.

The first is a 64-year-old PR who works as a security officer at Changi Airport Terminal 3. Before admitting himself to the hospital for Covid-19, he had gone to work and visited the Singapore National Eye Centre for treatment of an unrelated medical condition.

The second community case is a 48-year-old Singaporean citizen who is a temperature screener and swab assistant at Raffles Medical at Changi Airport Terminal 3.

The 48-year-old had gone to work prior to hospital admission.

Both cases are unlinked, and are not linked to each other either.

While they both work at Terminal 3, they had not interacted with each other, and it’s unlikely that one caught the virus from the other.

“As a precautionary measure, all individuals working at Changi Airport Terminal 3 who may have contact with travellers will be tested for COVID-19,” MOH said.

As more of our border restrictions ease, Rostered Routine Testing of frontline staff working at Changi Airport will be ramped up, the ministry said.
