6 New Covid-19 Cases Reported Today (3 Oct); 1 Case In The Community

Because today, as of 12pm on 3 Oct 2020, Singapore reported 6 new Covid-19 cases.

Just for your info, the last time we had a single-digit report was back on 12 Mar 2020.

There is a single case in the community, a Singaporean.

There are also 4 imported cases, all of whom were placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore.

It seems, too, that today will continue the trend of having more imported cases than dormitory cases (1).

Details On 2 Oct Cases

Yesterday was a good day, at least when it comes to new Covid-19 cases being reported.

There were only 10 cases reported yesterday: 1 case in the community, 4 cases from the dormitories and 5 imported cases.

Imported Cases

2 Oct also saw 5 imported cases in Singapore, more than the number of dormitory cases reported, an occurrence that hasn’t happened for a long time.

Out of the 5 cases, two of them, one Singaporean and one PR, had returned from India on 18 and 20 Sep 2020.

Another imported case is a Short-Term Visit Pass holder who reached Singapore from Indonesia on 18 Sep 2020.

The two remaining cases are a work pass holder who had arrived in Singapore from Indonesia on 20 Sep, and a Dependant’s Pass holder who arrived from India on 16 Sep 2020.

All 5 cases have been placed on Stay-Home-Notice (SHN) upon arrival in Singapore and were detected during their stay.

Dormitory Cases

Out of the 4 dormitory cases reported yesterday, 1 was a contact of an earlier-confirmed case and was already placed on quarantine.

The remaining 3 cases were detected through MOH’s surveillance testing.

Community Case

The single community case reported yesterday is a work pass holder who is currently unlinked.

He was detected during MOH’s surveillance testing of workers in the marine, construction and processing industry.

Epidemiological investigations are ongoing and his close contacts have been identified and isolated.

It was further reported that all new Covid-19 cases reported yesterday were asymptomatic cases.

Hair Salon & Cafe In Orchard Central Visited By Infectious Covid-19 Patients

On 2 Oct 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) added two new entries to the list of places visited by infectious Covid-19 cases.

The two locations are located within Orchard Central:

A hair salon, Walking on Sunshine [25 Sep, 9.45am to 7.45pm / 26 Sep, 9.45am to 7.45pm]
Grain Alley [26 Sep, 8.10pm to 9.40pm]

Alternatively, you can make sure that your TraceTogether app on your smartphone is updated to the latest version.

Unlike the previous one, the latest version lets you review where you’ve been to for the past weeks, and if there were any visits by infectious Covid-19 cases, the entry will be labelled red in the app.

Again, don’t panic because all close contacts (those who are really in danger) would’ve been notified by MOH.

Do, however, monitor your health for the next 14 days and remember to see a doctor immediately should you experience any symptoms.
