It seems like the dormitory issue isn’t going to clear any time now given that we’re seeing new clusters every day again.

Today, as of 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed an additional 40 cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore.

This brings the total number of cases to 57,022.

4 are community cases, and they are all work pass holders.

There are also 13 imported cases, and all of them had been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.

On average, based on yesterday’s numbers, the number of new cases in the community has increased, from an average of 2 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 3 per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of 1 case per day in the past 2 weeks.

Another 3 New Dormitory Clusters Reported & 2 Popular Malls Visited By Covid-19 Cases

Yesterday (5 Sept), the Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 3 new Covid-19 clusters in Singapore.

All of them are in dormitories housing foreign workers.

The first Covid-19 cluster, which is located at Cochrane Lodge I, has 9 Covid-19 cases linked to it.

The second, located at Mandai Lodge I, has 17 Covid-19 cases linked.

And the last cluster, located at Tuas South Dormitory, was linked to 11 previously-confirmed Covid-19 cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 clusters in dormitories to 12.

It has to be said though, that unlike the previous times when clusters were popping up like the hammer-the-mole game we used to play in arcades, the cases were caught earlier this time due to the various measures in place like the enhanced community testing and the bi-weekly Rostered Routine Testing.

Lest you still didn’t know, MOH regularly updates their list of places Covid-19 patients visited during their infectious period every time they have an update.

And yesterday, they added two popular neighbourhood malls to the list.
