October has started pretty well—at least in Singapore.
As of 12pm today, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminary confirmed 11 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection.
This brings the total in Singapore to 57,830 cases.
Out of today’s cases, 2 are community cases.
There are 4 imported cases, and they’ve all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.
Nevertheless, based on yesterday’s numbers, on average, the number of new cases in the community has increased from an average of fewer than 1 case per day in the week before, to an average of 1 case in the past week.
The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at an average of fewer than 1 case per day in the past 2 weeks.
Yesterday’s Sole Community Case is a Student in a Private School
The only community case reported yesterday been identified as a contact of a previously confirmed case who is her household member, and was placed on quarantine on 3 October.
The 15-year-old student, who’s from India, developed symptoms the next day, and was tested and subsequently conveyed to a hospital when her test result came back positive on the same day.
She is a student at a private school, and was last in school on 2 October before onset of symptoms.
It wasn’t mentioned which school she studies in.
