53 COVID-19 Cases Today (16 Aug); 48 Are Community Cases with 9 of Them Unlinked

While things are unpredictable up north, everything still stays consistent here in Singapore.

As of 12pm today (16 Aug), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 53 new cases of COVID-19 infection.

48 of them are community cases, and 9 of them are currently unlinked.

Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 571 cases in the week before to 354 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also decreased from 153 cases in the week before to 98 cases in the past week.

The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 36.6 and 14.0 respectively.

443 Cases in Hospitals; 8,399,585 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered

443 cases are currently warded in hospital. There are currently 32 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 8 in critical condition in the ICU. 8 amongst these 40 cases are fully vaccinated.

Of those who have fallen very ill, 33 are seniors above 60 years, of whom 26 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated.

As of yesterday, there are currently 102 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 1,155 infections.

As of 14 August 2021, we have administered a total of 8,399,585 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme (Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna), covering 4,424,312 individuals, with 4,104,828 individuals having completed the full vaccination regimen.

In addition, 147,528 doses of other vaccines recognised in the World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (WHO EUL) have been administered as of 14 August 2021, covering 83,536 individuals.

In total, 75% of our population has completed their full regimen / received two doses of COVID-19 vaccines, and 81% has received at least one dose.
