Let’s face it: we’re now more interested in knowing which places will close next because the number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore has been stable in the last few days – stably high, of course.
As of 12pm today (24 Jul), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 130 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
127 of them are community cases.
Of the 127 locally-transmitted cases, 29 are currently unlinked. 5 cases belong to the KTV cluster, while 75 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 64,054.
Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 178 cases in the week before to 961 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 18 cases in the week before to 97 cases in the past week.
The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 123.4 and 13.9 respectively.
3 New Clusters Formed from New COVID-19 Cases
The last thing we need right now is new COVID-19 clusters, so naturally, the coronavirus decided to deliver three yesterday.
The first, named after Case 65342, has a total of three cases linked to it.
Another cluster, linked to Case 65360, has four cases, while the remaining cluster, Case 65484, has five infections.
Fortunately, six old clusters were closed after as there have been no new infections linked to them for the past two incubation periods or 28 days.
These are:
- the ION Orchard cluster
- Cases 64135 cluster
- Case 64349 cluster
- Case 64359 cluster
- Case 64374 cluster
- Case 64444 cluster
There are a total of 26 active clusters in the country, ranging between three and 665 infections.
447 Cases in Hospitals; 6,978,317 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered
447 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 11 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 2 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). None amongst these 13 cases is fully vaccinated. 11 seniors above 60 years, who are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.
There are three new clusters today. In total, there are currently 26 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 665 infections.MOH has been monitoring existing clusters for any further transmission. As there have been no more cases linked to the Case 64135, Case 64349, Case 64359, Case 64374, Case 64444 and ION Orchard clusters for the past two incubation periods (i.e. 28 days), the clusters have now been closed.
As of 22 July 2021, we have administered a total of 6,978,317 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme. The total number of doses administered was 6,978,317, covering 4,201,110 individuals. 2,897,480 individuals have completed the full vaccination regimen, consisting of 120,273 recovered persons who received at least one dose and 2,777,207 who received their second dose.
