Daily COVID-19 reports have become kind of predictable.
As of 12pm today (29 Jul), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 133 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
129 of them are community cases.
Of the 129 locally-transmitted cases, 50 are currently unlinked. 2 cases belong to the KTV cluster, while 30 are linked to the Jurong Fishery Port cluster.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 64,722.
Based on yesterday’s number, the number of new cases in the community has increased from 765 cases in the week before to 915 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has also increased from 45 cases in the week before to 217 cases in the past week.
The 7-day moving average number of all linked community cases and all unlinked community cases are 99.7 and 31 respectively.
5 New Clusters Reported Yesterday (28 July), Including a Bakery in Jurong
At the start of the month, we’d report maybe five to ten new COVID-19 infections a day. Now, that’s the number of new clusters we’re identifying daily.
Yesterday (28 July), five new clusters were confirmed, bringing the total number of active clusters here to 44.
One is linked to Home’s Favourite, a bakery in Jurong Food Hub, while the remaining four clusters involve individual cases.
MOH’s investigations found that there is likely ongoing transmission at Home Favourite’s premises, and have thus closed the bakery for two weeks until 12 Aug.
All staff members will also be placed on quarantine and tested.
The bakery cluster currently has 6 cases, while the other four clusters have three to four cases each.
567 Cases in Hospitals; 7,305,300 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered
567 cases are currently warded in hospital. Most are well and under observation. There are currently 23 cases of serious illness requiring oxygen supplementation, and 2 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). 1 amongst these 25 cases is fully vaccinated, but requires oxygen supplementation as she has underlying medical conditions. 16 seniors above 60 years, of whom 15 are completely unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, have fallen very ill.
In total, there are currently 44 active clusters, ranging between 3 and 932 infections.
As of 27 July 2021, we have administered a total of 7,305,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccines under the national vaccination programme.
