It’s the end of the first week that we’re allowed to dine in. As we absentmindedly leave our trays behind only to get a verbal reminder, we look around the vastly deserted hawker only to remember that COVID-19 never forgets to ‘turn up for work’.
As of 12pm today (27 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
12 of them are community cases, with 1 of them unlinked. The other 2 are imported cases.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,544.
Based on yesterday’s figures, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 109 cases in the week before to 92 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 13 cases in the week before to 19 cases in the past week.
Unlinked COVID-19 Cases Reported on 26 June Include a Navy Serviceman
Through surveillance, 4 new unlinked cases have been detected, including a navy serviceman. Here are the details:
- A 27-year-old, fully-vaccinated male serviceman in the Singapore Navy who was a close contact to a positive case and was quarantined from 10 June to 22 June. However, he developed a fever on 24 June and was tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
- A 32-year-old female Singaporean who works as an administrative staff at Walt Disney. Despite developing a fever, cough and body aches on 16 June, she was only confirmed to be COVID-19 positive on 25 June.
- A 21-year-old female Singaporean nurse who works at Changi General Hospital. As a part of Rostered Routine Testing (RRT), she was tested on 23 June, but she developed symptoms on 24 June and received a positive COVID-19 test result on 25 June.
- A 76-year-old female Singaporean retiree who is asymptomatic and was only detected as she was seeking medical treatment at Singapore General Hospital for an unrelated condition on 25 June.

313 Active Cases
There are currently 143 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 4 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
170 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for COVID-19.
36 have passed away from complications due to COVID-19 infection.
