More good news emerged yesterday: there wasn’t any unlinked case. Hopefully, things will remain this way.
Fortunately, they did.
As of 12pm today (6 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 20 new cases of COVID-19 infection.
6 are community cases, of which 1 is unlinked.
The remaining 14 are imported cases.
This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 62,196.
Based on yesterday’s figures, the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 138 cases in the week before to 129 cases in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has remained stable at 20 cases per week in the past 2 weeks.
A New Cluster in a Barber Shop is Formed After 5 June COVID-19 Cases
A new cluster has been formed in a barber shop.
Four new cases were linked to a new cluster in Atatcutz Singapore at 348 Bedok Road.
The first is a 35-year-old male Malaysia national who works as a delivery rider for Pizza Hut (Kampong Ubi Community Centre). As he had been identified as a household contact of a previously confirmed case , he was placed on quarantine on 1 June. He was tested for COVID-19 on 3 June during quarantine, and developed a cough the next day. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 4 June. His serology test result is negative.
The second is a 46-year-old female Singaporean who works as a manager at Workforce Singapore, and has been working from home since April 2021. She is a household contact of previously confirmed cases and was placed on quarantine on 2 June. She developed a fever on 3 June but did not report her symptom. She was tested for COVID-19 on 3 June during quarantine and her test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection the next day.
The third is a 25-year-old male Malaysia national who works as a barber at the barber shop, and he is a household contact of previously confirmed cases and was placed on quarantine on 2 June. He was tested for COVID-19 on 3 June and his test result came back positive for COVID-19 infection on 4 June. He subsequently developed a fever on the same day. His serology test result is negative.
The last is a 27-year-old male Malaysia national who also works as a barber at the barber shop. He is a workplace contact of previously confirmed cases, and was placed on quarantine on 2 June. He is asymptomatic, and was detected when he was tested for COVID-19 on 3 June during quarantine. His test result came back positive for COVID-19 on 4 June. His serology test result is negative.
Now you know why the authorities are isolating the household contacts of close contacts.
1 case is linked to the McDonald’s delivery rider cluster, 2 cases are linked to the MINDSville@Napiri cluster, 1 case is linked to the Tektronix cluster and the others are all linked to previously confirmed cases.
