If Professor Oak in Pokemon exists in real life, it’ll probably be him:
Chen San Yuan, 70, from Taiwan.
I mean, Professor Oak’s old and an expert at Pokemon. Chen is old and an expert at Pokemon GO.
Just look at this video of his that went viral previously.
His gameplay was so hot it racked up 14.1 million views.
Started With Six
Just like Pokemon, this grandpa from Taiwan is constantly evolving. When Pokemon GO first came out, he got so into the game he built a phone holder on the front of his bicycle.
Then, he rode the bicycle around Taiwan, spinning Pokestops, catching Pokemon and collecting berries.
According to Channel Newsasia, he started off with six phones.
Then, he was photographed with 9 phones in August 2018.
And even a lack of bicycle can’t stop Chen.
Chen was seen swiping on 11 phones with his phone holder strapped to himself.
In January 2019, he was seen with 21 phones, all on Pokemon GO, of course.
And most recently, on 30 June, he was seen with 30 phones.
A Mini-Celebrity
Safe to say, people all across the world has taken notice of Chen and his Pokemon GO gameplay.
Whenever people see him on the streets, they’ll snap a picture of him and upload it onto social media.
So to be honest, we’re not surprised when Asus noticed him.
An Ambassador For Asus Zenfone
In Mar 2019, Taiwan-based tech giant Asus took notice of his passion for Pokemon GO and the ingenious way he went about playing the game.
So they made him an ambassador for their Asus ZenFone series.
Chen was given 22 Asus Zenfone Max Pros to use during his Pokemon GO adventure. And at the same time, promoting the battery life and GPS capabilities of the Zenfone.
He was also invited to an Asus press conference to talk about the phone’s capability.

Yes, I think it’s safe to say, if there was ever a real-life Professor Oak, Chen San Yuan probably fits the bill the best.
