An 18-year-old male cyclist has died after a tour bus allegedly hit and dragged him underneath while he was crossing the road.
The fatal accident occurred around 6pm yesterday (12 July) at the intersection of Yishun Avenue 2 and Yishun Ring Road.

According to Shin Min Daily News, after the incident, a large pool of blood was seen on the road, drawing the attention and sparking discussions among passers-by. The tour bus involved in the accident was parked on the roadside. There was also a bicycle lying on the grass next to the road, presumably belonging to the victim.
A black shoe and a black water bottle were also found on the grass, likely belonging to the deceased.
Photos circulating on the internet show the victim lying under the bus.
It is generally believed that he was hit and dragged underneath the bus. The deceased is reportedly a young man of Chinese ethnicity.
The police and the SCDF confirmed upon inquiry that the accident involved a bus and a bicycle, and the 18-year-old male cyclist was declared dead at the scene.
A 37-year-old male bus driver has been arrested for careless driving causing death.
Tour Bus Company Assists Investigation
The tour bus belonged to Frontier Tours Pte Ltd, a company that offers various services, including shuttle buses, charter services, and city tours.
When interviewed, the company’s manager said that an investigation was ongoing and he was unable to comment at present.
He noted that the bus involved in the accident was equipped with a dashcam, and the footage has been handed over to the authorities for investigation.
In addition, the company is trying to get in touch with the victim’s family and will provide necessary assistance.
