It’s one thing to hit a kid when he does something wrong, but this is outright bullying.
A man was fined S$2000 after kicking a football against a nine-year-old boy’s legs 3 times. At the fourth time, the ball then missed his leg and hit a wall. It then rebounded and hit the boy’s face, causing him to suffer bodily pain and a nose bleed.
The man, Keith Tan Chee Siang, 36, was upset after the boy accidentally kicked the ball and hit his daughter on the shoulder while playing with his friend. She then fell off her skate scooter and suffered minor abrasions.
In order to teach the boy a lesson, Tan decided to take matters into his own hands and discipline the boy in his own terms. He made the boy stand in front of him, and repeatedly kicked him with the ball. And after every kick, he even questioned the boy if it was “pain or not”.
At the end of the entire ordeal, Tan then walked off without even questioning the boy if he was okay.
He has since been fined a sum of S$2000 and has a second charge of committing a rash act to endanger the personal safety of others. He could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined up to $5,000 for causing hurt.
For an adult to have commited such an act to a small child, well, shame on him.
And funny enough, the boy just stood there and allowed him to kick the ball at him repeatedly without even flinching, running away or calling for help. I mean, don’t get me wrong. I know how afraid the boy must have felt. But his friend could have called for help or even asked the man to stop, no?
