Marvel’s first R-rated movie comes to Singapore on 25 July 2024.Reader: R-rated?
That’s right. As with all other Deadpool movies, be prepared for plenty of F-bombs and adult jokes that are sprinkled throughout the movie.
Speaking of, have you seen the trailer? It gives you an idea of why the movie is R-rated.
The official trailer was just released, though fans have already been talking about this movie since February.
The first teaser trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine debuted during the Super Bowl and broke the record for the most-viewed movie trailer within 24 hours with a whopping 365 million total views, stealing the spot from Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Renolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, whom fans last saw die in the movie Logan (2017).
Reader: Wait, didn’t Hugh Jackman retire from Wolverine after Logan?
Wolverine is Back
Yes, Jackman did, but Ryan Renolds really wanted Jackman to be in his Deadpool film, and, after a lot of convincing, managed to get Jackman to reprise his role in the upcoming Deadpool film.
Renolds has been very busy over the movie’s production and filming as he is not only acting as Deadpool, but was also a writer and producer of the film.
In the movie, Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth Deadpool.
Or rather, Deadpool comes up to Wolverine and threatens him to go with him.
It’s unclear how Deadpool’s universe is in danger, but he asks Wolverine to help him because of Wolverine’s heroic qualities.
The two of them then team up to fight a common enemy, Cassandra Nova, played by Emma Corrin.
I mean, what else happens in Marvel movies, right?
Who Fans Will Get To See
The movie will see stars like Morena Baccarin and Rob Delaney, along with Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, and Lewis Tan, who will be reprising their roles from previous Deadpool films.
You’ll also get to see Chris Hemsworth appear as Thor through repurposed archival footage from Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
Fans can also expect to see Alioth – the time monster from Loki – who may be a primary obstacle for the film’s main duo to overcome.
Someone else you’ll get to see is Dogpool, a variant of Deadpool. Dogpool is a member of the Deadpool Corps who resembles a dog.
In the trailer, Dogpool is seen licking Deadpool’s face as an explosion goes off behind them.
And Wolverine stares in disgust.
We’re not sure how big of a role Dogpool will play in the movie, but it certainly contributes to the whacky and bizarre element that all Deadpool movies have.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be coming to Singapore on 25 July, and you can catch it at Shaw Theatres, Golden Village and EagleWings Cinematics.
Don’t walk, RUN to get your tickets so you can be the first to watch the funny duo take on challenges this July.
