26YO Man Died After Car Crashed & Broke Into 2 in Seletar West Link

Car accidents are never pretty.

We may have seen an action movie or two where we gasp in awe as the car crash scene ended with one of the cars doing a magnificent flip through the air before landing on its hood.

In other scenes, a car may be split cleanly into two after the impact.

But what appears in the movies should be kept within the made-believe sphere.

In the real world, such accidents are bound to result in casualties and deaths.

An accident at Seletar West Link split a car into two in a tragic accident on Friday (11 August 2023).

Here is what happened.

An Accident Occurred in the Early Hours of 11 August 2023

An accident occurred in Seletar West Link along the Central Expressway in the wee hours of 11 August 2023. The direction was towards Seletar Expressway.

A car reportedly skidded and split into two due to the accident.

The accident occurred around 12.10 am, with both the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) called to the scene to assist.

The Car Was Split Into Two After the Accident

In a video posted on the Facebook group SG Road Vigilante – SGRV, what looks like the front half of a car is seen lying on the road.

There are orange cones lining up in a line to segregate the lane with the car debris.

A police tent can be seen a distance away from the front half of the car.

Other police vehicles were seen at the scene of the accident as well.

The caption of the Facebook post identified the car as a Honda Civic.

The Accident Resulted in One Dead and Two Injured People

According to The Straits Times, there were at least three people affected by this accident.

One was a male passenger, who was pronounced dead at the site of the accident. He was 26 years old.

What a tragic death.

Another man, who was also 26 years old, survived the accident. He was found conscious by the SCDF officers but was trapped in his seat.

The officers rescued this man (who was the driver of the car) using hydraulic rescue equipment and sent him to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for treatment.

The driver sure has to thank his lucky stars for surviving this horrific accident.

Another woman was also sent to the hospital for treatment. She was reportedly the passenger of the car and was also 26 years old.

Unfortunately, she was unconscious when rescued by the officers.
