No doubt, the Covid-19 pandemic has posed as a huge threat to people’s livelihood. Even I have had second thoughts of ordering in my usual Double Mcspicy meal from McDonald’s – it’s a very first-world problem.
Money has been tight and the majority have been living off a budget streak for weeks since our industries have halted operations.

It is no different for our friendly neighbour across the causeway, which has been on a partial lockdown since…very long ago (18 March, to be specific).
As such, the Royal Malaysia Police have stepped up to lessen the burdens of the Malaysian people.
How, you ask.
Well, discount, of course.
The Royal Police have put in a discount of 50% if you pay your unpaid summons from the 18 to the 21 of May.
Hopes That Discount Would Ease Burden For Motorists
According to World of Buzz, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigations and Enforcement Director, Deputy Comm Datuk Azisman Alias, hoped that the measure would alleviate their citizens’ financial burdens.
Because of the Movement Control Order (MCO), many people have been laid off their jobs as services and workplaces are forced to abide by the regulations.
With Hari Raya Aidilfitri just around the corner, DCP Azisman highlighted that some may be facing financial difficulties.

He said, “We understand some may be facing difficulties during the Movement Control Order while others may be preparing to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.”

Police Headquarters and Traffic Service Counters to Open From 18 May
The Director has also announced the opening of police headquarter and traffic service counters.
From 18 May onwards, these services will open nationwide to facilitate the payment of summons and insurance documentation for road accidents.

For the benefit of our Malaysian readers, the services at the following headquarters and traffic centres are as stated below:
- Counters in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabha, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan will be opened from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays to Wednesdays. On Fridays, the counters will open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- For counters in Kedah, Johor, Kelantan, and Terengganu, services will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays.
