Why 9:41? Is it Steve Jobs birthday? Is it some psychologist’s conclusion that 9:41AM is the most attractive time to market products to customers? No, it is more interesting than that. And many times more meaningful. Boy was it patented.
During the launch of the first iPhone ever to be made, the time of 9:41AM was conceived. It was Jobs’ idea. This trademark was born in 2007, due to Job’s prediction that the end of his presentation at the official launch of the first iPhone would be at exactly 9:41AM.
His presentation started at 9:00AM, and he calculated that he’ll need exactly 41 minutes to complete the presentation.
And of course, his calculations proved to be spot on, and just as he concluded the presentation “This is the day I’ve been looking forward to for two and a half years”, the final slide with the iPhone appeared, showing the world the game changer of mobile phones, with the time on the screen exactly the same as the time on the watches of the audiences.
As we know, that introduction of the iPhone by Steve Jobs was legendary, and one of the most iconic speeches in the decade. And it is such attention paid to details that made the success of the iPhone, as well as stamping the name of Steve Jobs onto the archives of technology.
