Calling all dog owners in Singapore, especially those who live near Kovan or walk their dogs at Kovan.
You may want to avoid some fields in the Kovan area as they are suspected to have caused the poisoning and deaths of dogs.
Dog owners who have had their beloved furry companions fall sick and die after playing in the field are alerting other dog owners about this incident.
Hopefully, no other dogs fall victim to the “dog poison” in the fields.
Here is more on what happened with the suspected poisoning case.
Dog Owners Take to Social Media to Warn Others About Fields in Kovan
Earlier this week, some dog owners have taken to social media to warn others about some fields that can poison dogs.
The fields are allegedly located in Kovan. Some of the fields identified include Parry Field, Parry Avenue, Philips Avenue, Sandilands Road and other surrounding areas.
A homemade, unofficial sign was set up near Parry Field, warning other dog owners of this incident.
Here is what the sign looks like.
We can’t help but wonder if this sign will be taken down by the authorities as being vandalism or something similar.
Whatever it is, the more pressing question is what caused this big hoo-ha?
It seems that some dogs have died after playing in the field.
One of the dogs is Paolo. The social media account using the moniker @zeustheaussieshepard posted about Paolo dying after struggling for eight hours because of dog poisoning after playing in the field at Kovan.
This post was reposted by fellow dog owner @bernedoodlesage on Instagram.
Paolo apparently loved to play at Parry Field before it fell victim to the “toxins” or other dangerous substances in the area.
Multiple Dogs Have Allegedly Died After Playing in the Field
While it is not yet certain if the dog’s death can be attributed to playing in the field, the fact that multiple dogs have experienced a similar untimely end seems too much of a coincidence to be true.
Indeed, another sign near one of the “tainted” fields says that at least two dogs have fallen victim to dog poisoning from that area.
Investigations about the incidents are currently underway.
The Straits Times reported that the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) responded to its queries about the social media posts, saying that it was aware of the posts.
The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is also updated about the incident.
Furthermore, AVS has reached out to the affected dog owners and will continue looking into what happened.
Be safe, everyone. It can’t hurt to be more cautious lest the dog poison thing is true.
